Hamilton Beach Model 40DM Triple-Spindle Commercial Milkshake Mixer — Jadeite Green
The crown jewel of any soda fountain collection — this is a classic mid-century Hamilton Beach Model 40DM triple-spindle commercial milkshake and malt mixer in the highly coveted jadeite/seafoam green porcelain finish. Made in Racine, Wisconsin by Hamilton Beach (a division of Scovill), these three-head mixers were the workhorses of American diners and soda fountains from the 1940s through the 1960s. Collectors have long called the triple-head version the "Cadillac" of vintage malt mixers — and it's easy to see why.
This example presents beautifully: the jadeite green porcelain is solid with normal light wear and no major chips or heavy corrosion. The original chrome trim and period nameplate (350 watts / 115 volts, early 1940s patents) are intact, and it comes with three stainless steel mixing cups — a significant bonus, as many examples sell with only one or none.
